Rural Skill Development

Rural skill development focuses on empowering village youth (ages 15-35) through vocational training, enhancing employability, and fostering local entrepreneurship to reduce poverty and urban migration. Key initiatives include the DDU-GKY (placement-linked training), RSETI (self-employment), and STRY (agriculture), focusing on market-driven skills, AI, and sustainable livelihoods.
Key Aspects of Rural Skill Development 
 
• Flagship Programs: 
– MSSDS- Maharashtra State Skill Development Society . A Nodal Agency for state in Skill development.
• DDU-GKY (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana): A placement-linked, demand-driven 
training program for rural youth, aimed at diversifying income sources. 
• RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institutes): Focuses on skill upgradation and entrepreneurship to promote self-employment. 
• STRY (Skill Training of Rural Youth): Provides training in agriculture and allied sectors, including farm and non-farm operations. 
– BARTI/ARTI/ SARATHI/ Mahajyoti/ Annabhau Sathe Vikas Mahamandsl/  various affiliated skills Training programs.
